As part of the continued investment by Springfield Remanufacturing into the Lexington facility, a 12,000 square foot addition to the existing plant of 64,000 square feet was completed in the fall of 2015. This new portion of the facility will help streamline the operations in Lexington and improve both workflow and throughput. The new addition was specifically designed for disassembly and cleaning operations in the remanufacturing plant, and will help pave the way for continued growth and new business opportunities in Lexington. Some key features of the addition include numerous overhead cranes for ease of handling of large mechanical mining and natural gas components, an integrated steam cleaning pre-wash bay, the addition of new and improved parts cleaning machines, large floor drains connected to oil separation devices to facilitate plant cleanliness, and a large increase in space for disassembly.
